Maths Review

This week I have been doing a'lot of maths including fractions, adding fractions,  and decimal practice. But yesterday my Chromebook wasent working so I did my maths, reading and writing in my home work book that got sent to me which was fun. In my home work book I done adding and subtracting and some decimal practice.

The hard part about the maths was the adding and subtracting fractions one, because I had to get help on that one.

The easy ones was probably the adding decimals because I learnt something new from that one same with the fraction one.

Here is all presentation of all the task's that I had to do. And much more because I couldn't find them.

Fractions of a Number

Today I done fraction practice this one was easy because you just divide and times the fraction to get the answer.

The hard part was to get the hang of the strategy because it looked hard but it was actually quite easy.

The easy part  was getting the hang of it, because to get the hang of stuff for me I just have to go over and over with the question.

What are fractions? - Practice

Today I done this task about fractions. This task was quite easy because it was practice and it was easy to understand how to do it.

The easy part was that it was easy and it didn't take that long unlike the other activities.

Adding Decimals With Hundreths

Yesterday I done some maths, you click on a video and it shows you how to add decimals with hundredths. I learnt 2 new strategies of this video, one of the strategy that I learnt was adding the decimals and splitting them up and then add them up.

The hard part about this was the split strategy because it was one of the hard strategies to learn.

The easy part was the strategy when you add them up because i'm good at pluse's and carrying the number.

Here is a picture of the workings and the link to the video

Making Ends Meet

Yesterday I done a video chat with my class and teacher. He set us out a task, the task was about shopping lists and food. In this slide we had to brainstorm our food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. After we have brainstormed our breakfast, lunch, and dinner we had to take a food from our brainstorming and put it on the menu item slide. First we had to put the ingredients, the number of the food, and the mil and grams of the food we put in the item of the food.

Then we do the method, the method is like the steps exg. 1._____ 2._____ and so on.

The hard part about this was the method because it took a lot of time to get it right, and there were lots of menu items.

The easy part was the ingrediants because it was fun finding waaht was in some of the food.

Maths Post

For the past few week I have been doing maths. Which includes Division, rounding tens, addition and subtraction. I put all of my working out in my book to record what i've done.

The hard part was learning new strategies because they were new to me and some were a bit hard to figure out.

The easy part was that it was fun, it was fun to learn new strategies to use for my maths problems.

Here are a few pictures of my workings....

Maths stratigies

Today I learnt the split and multiples of ten strategies. For the split one I had to split the number and times them. The multiple one was a bit easier exg. 10 x 42 = 420 and who had to do a starigie for that one.

The hardest part about this was figuring out how to use the strategy.

The easy part was it was new and it was fun trying them out.

Mathletics

For the last three days i've been doing maths on matletics most of it was easy for me but on the last day I had abit of trouble with pertentages and graphing. The first 2 days it was easy because it was subtraction and addition.

The hard part about it was the end one because im not to good at my percentages and graphing.

The easy part was the first and second days because it was addition.

Add the missing multiples

On this activity we had to tell what the missing multiples were. exg. 7 - 14 - 21 - 28 - 35 and so on.
I copied the activity on the paper to record my work.

The hard part about this was figuring out what was the multiples to 8.

The easy part was that it was easy putting it down on the paper and I know my 6, 4 and 7 multiples.

Here is a picture of my work that I had done...

Mental - Multiplication Strategies and Doubling Numbers

Date 25/03/2020

This Is my multiplication post about starigies...

On our working from home site I went on my maths activities and saw Mental - Multiplication Strategies and Multiplication facts. The first task that popped up was  strategys on how to double the numbers that were given to us. I had to draw a wheel and in the middle of the wheel I put what the number I was x (timesing it by).

The hardest part about this activity was figuring out what the double was and getting the hang of the strategy I used. The easy part was that it was cool to learn a new strategy to double and halve.

Here is a picture to show what I did with the doubling

Colors of cars on Carmen Road

Today i'm showing you my pie chart that I made with spreadsheets.

To get this data we went outside and walked to the gates, over the gates were Carmen road. Our teacher told us to get a buddy and count the color of cars and put them on our sheet in tally form. This is the data that we got. The picture tells us that blue is 18.5% and white is 25.2 and so on. To create this pie chart we went onto a spreadsheet and put the tally down then highlight the data (except the total), after that go click on insert at the top of the spreadsheet, then it will say chart click on chart and then you can pick your chart style add labels, change title, change the colors of the chart and much more.

The hardest part about making the chart that it was confusing because it was hard to get used to using it and know how to use it.

The easy part was that it was fun to make because you could change the color of the chart and do all sorts of things with it.

Pie Charts

This week we have been talking about "Pie Charts"

Pie charts are to gather percentages and then to put them into the Pie chart. To gather the information and put it into percentages is, to write the key down and what the keys information is about.
Exg. red is 50% and blue is 25% and then green is 25% 25 + 25 % = 50 combined and red is just 50%, so in those colors you right your percentage and in like a normal chart you need your labels and title.

The hardest  part about this activity was figuring out how to add the percentages, and learning something new.

The easy part was having fun learning something new and it was fun adding the percentages

Pictogram and Telecharts

This week we have been learning about Pictogram and Telecharts, with Mr Mitchell.

A  Pictograph is a telechart but at the bottom of the chart there is a box which you add up all the numbers, in  the chart you put your telly's like normal but like I said you need to add up all the numbers at the end. for example I draw a telechart but at the bottom there's a box which you add up your data at the end in the box, so if charlie had 10 apples and daisy had 13 apples you will do the telly, and then the box at the bottom you add that data 13 + 10 = 23 so you put the 23 in the box.

The hardest part about this activity was adding them up because, there were a lot of numbers to add up, and it got a bit confusing but then I got used to it.

The easy part about it was learning something new because, i've never heard  of a Pictogram and how it works, but it was easy to figure out how it works.

Eye Bar Graph

This is my eye bar graph, this bar graph is to tell how many people have blue eyes, brown eyes and other eyes. Brown eyes:16, Blue:4, Other:2

We went around our homeroom finding what the eye color of our class mates are.
There were whats are favorite take away's, what ice cream flavor, and eye color.

The hardest part was drawing the graph to get it right and the numbers across the Y axis.

The easy part was coloring inside the bar graph

Statistics

Today we done a lally chart about how puni-o-toka gets to school

The hard part about this task was getting the graph done, because getting the numbers in and getting the lines in with thr right numbers.

The easy part was counting how many numbers that your sppose to put on and round them up into telly marks.

Have you ever done this task?

Car 17 tally marks

Walk 2 tally marks

Bike 0 tally marks

Scooter 4 tally marks

Bus 0 tally marks
