How to be normal

 This week we have been doing questions on a story that we had to read. We done questions about the story and how the story went. Here is my work that I have done, it has got all of my questions on it.

How to be normal

1. Charleys hip banged into Michaela.  

2. I think charley is a bit different to others because the name of the story says “how to be normal” so that gave off the impression that charley is a bit different/weird.

3. No charley doesn't have a right to be angry because it wasn't that big of a deal.

4. Sad because she got yelled at by Michaela, she might have felt different to other people.

5. Charley is relaxed because she is not around other people who are mean to her.

Exploring languages:

Screeches: Yelling at the top of your lungs

Apologize: Say sorry to someone and make it up to them

Intenly: Made on purpose

Write down three sentences that either have there, their or they’re

When she gets there, Amys sitting against the tree with her eyes closed

They’re all sitting at their desks

I thought this story is good for the outstanding task becasue it has a person being bullied and

she needs somone to stand up for he, and thats the main point of the task that we are doing

Inferring

 We are learning to infer.

Inferring is when you read between the lines of a sentence, that actually hasn't stated what it said in the sentence. So you guess the clues that were said in the literal information, literal information is what is actually said in the sentence so you use those clues to find out what it will mean or what will happen or what did happen.

E.g. We are in a dark and cold bunker, but we are safe from the blast. - If I had to infer what this means I would say the was a nuclear blast outside that's why they are hiding in a bunker. 

Another way to infer is to use your prior knowledge that you know and use that to figure out what is happening in the text (story).

The Bullet

Today I read a story called the bullet. It was about a boy who found a bullet chucked out of a car and then he gets in a problem, with his classmates.

The hard part about this was understanding the questions.

The easy part was making the google drawing and putting the text in and that.

Benny

This week we have been reading. I choose Benny because it was a simple title and it was one of the easy task's out of all the story's.

The hard part about this activity was doing the follow-up activity which is the picture up on the top of the post.

The easy part was reading it because it was interesting.

Harry The Dirty Dog

Today I went on storyline on line to find a book to read. The first book that I looked at was Harry The Dirty Dog, I remember reading this story when I was little.This story reminded me of my dog and he got dirty.

After the story I went and created a word cloud and I put 20 important words in the word cloud, and I found a dog shape to make it fit in with the story that I was reading. Here is the link to the story - Link

Today i decided to read a story that I had at home. This story was a journal that came in the mail a couple of week ago.

This story was about climate change in Samoa.

I liked this story because it was about climate change and tsunamis, tsunamis interest me because its about the ocean and some tsunamis can get really, really big.

The hard part about this activity was canva because it was tricky making the words smaller and bigger but other than that it was alright to use

Dive

Dive on Biteable.
This story was about a girl who was swimming and lost her phone. As she was searching a sea snake wriggles bye. This story was from the reading journal grid and it was a easy story. I picked this story because It looked interesting and it was about swiming and rivers.

After we read the story we got to pick a task from the grid I chosse biteable, I havent used biteable in a longtime because I usually use google docs because it is much easier.

The hard part about it was making the biteable because it took long to get it sorted and that.

The easy part was reading the story because it was about swiming and rivers, I can relate to it because I like swimming in rivers.

Influenza Pandemic

Yesterday I read a story about the ifluenza pandemic. We could choose the hard, medium, or easy story. I picked the medium story, and chosse the pandemic one. After we read one we had to pick a task from the grid that relates to the story, there was a drawing task, a beat maker task and a lot more.

Parihaka DLO

This the Parihaka DLO that I made today I gathered most of the stories, read them and put them all on a drawing to post.

The hard part about this was getting the stories to fit on the drawing.

The easy part was reading because it didn't take long.

Tangata Whenua DLO

We had these audiobooks to listen too while we read the story on the chromebook. You can see on the DLO that there is pictures about the stories I read. I like working in Tangata whenua because you can listen to the audio and read.

The Treaty Of Waitangi was made by the Maori and British people to declare now wars and peace.

The hardest part about this DLO was finding the right images (pictures) to fin and put into my DLO

The easy part was it was fun to make it cause you can do the text colors and make it any style you want it to be
